Jad Bou Monsef, MD

Dr. Jad Bou Monsef is an Orthopedic Spine Surgeon and Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery & Rehabilitation Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and One Brooklyn Health.

A board-eligible orthopedic surgeon with advanced training in spine surgery from the Mayo Clinic, Dr. Bou Monsef sees patients at multiple locations in Brooklyn, New York and he performs surgery at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, Brookdale University Hospital, and Kingsbrook Bone & Joint Center. Additionally, Dr. Bou Monsef works with a comprehensive group of musculoskeletal specialists through University Orthopaedic Associates.

Dr. Bou Monsef treats all conditions of the neck and back. He has advanced skills in both minimally invasive and outpatient procedures as well as complex revision surgeries and deformity corrections. He has particular interest in osteoporosis and the optimization of spine health, as well as complex degenerative and traumatic conditions of the spine.

Dr. Bou Monsef has authored numerous publications and has presented his research at national and international meetings. He is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, J. Robert Gladden Orthopedic Society, and is involved in medical mission trips with Global Spine Outreach. He is accomplished in both minimally invasive spinal surgery and open complex spine surgery. His research interests include artificial intelligence, the impact of osteoporosis on the spine, cervical deformity, and health care disparities in spine.
