When we’re determining the overall stage of your colon or rectal cancer, the T stage is not the only determining factor. We have to also include the N stage or the nodal stage as well as the M stage. Obviously, if the M stage is positive, you will automatically be a stage four patient. With regards to what stage one through three, we really have to look at your T and N stage together. And with regards to T staging, T4 would automatically be a stage three disease.
