Dr. Groff studied psychology and French literature at Cornell University, before deciding to pursue a career in medicine. She then worked as a post-baccalaureate intramural research fellow at the National Institutes of Health, studying primary ovarian insufficiency. She subsequently pursued a masters of public health, behavioral science, from Emory University. Her medical training and residency were both at SUNY Upstate Medical University, the latter in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Since graduating from residency, Dr. Groff has been working in private practice, for the past 5 years at Capital Women’s Care, in Frederick, MD. She has been eager to incorporate telehealth options for patients and is a consultant for Simple Health.

Dr. Groff has a special interest in the psychosocial aspects of medicine. She published an article on the emotional needs of women with ovarian insufficiency in Fertility and Sterility. She has also participated in an advisory board to Seven Starling, as they developed their program addressing postpartum depression. In 2021, she added a board certification in obesity medicine to her experience, in the hope of making medical care more accessible to those suffering with this condition.
