Hi, I’m Dr. Amit Mehta and I’m double board certified in anesthesiology and interventional pain management. I perform numerous interventional pain management procedures under fluoroscopic x-ray or ultrasound guidance to treat a variety of conditions. These procedures include targeted nerve blocks, epidural or spinal injections, radiofrequency ablation, and spinal cord stimulation along with specific muscle or joint injections. Regenerative medicine, along with discal supplementation for arthritis joint pain has become a big part of my practice over the past few years. And I have continued to perform kyphoplasty, facet injections, occipital blocks, trigger point injections, sympathetic blocks, Botox injections, as well as ketamine fusions to treat various pain complaints. I did my undergraduate studies at University of Illinois, followed by medical school at Rush University. I completed my anesthesiology training at Northwestern followed by pain management fellowship at HSS Sloan Kettering and NY Presbyterian in New York City. Following that, I was a founding and managing partner of one of the largest Chicago-based interventional pain management practices with seven locations treating acute and chronic pain patients.

Realizing the various changes in healthcare, I decided to obtain my healthcare MBA from Auburn University in 2018, in the hopes it would aid in my professional and personal growth. Following that I started ABM Pain Consultants LLC to help grow and build separate pain practices from a compliance, protocol, patient care and private practice standpoint, but also to consult, educate, and try to make a difference in patient care on a daily basis. Going back to my undergraduate days, I have published in various medical articles and journals. In terms of pain management, during fellowship, I coauthored a chapter in neuropathic pain and treatment associated with cancer pain. I have spoken at numerous conferences here in the United States and abroad about CRPS, novel international pain management techniques, and the integration of pain management with other specialties, including orthopedic and chiropractic care. Having done my MBA, I’ve had the opportunity to speak internationally about the changing landscape of the healthcare system, comparing the different healthcare delivery systems that are available to people worldwide.

In my spare time, I enjoy sports, music, traveling and spending time with my friends and family as much as possible. I am a sports enthusiast and have learned that balancing my work life and personal time has allowed me to maximize my growth professionally as well as my growth personally. My passion for making an impact is what pushes me in the field of healthcare. This impact can be from a micro perspective by improving a patient’s day-to-day life, or it can be from a macro perspective by maximizing healthcare service channels that improve the healthcare system as a whole.
