Transcript

Ankylosing spondylitis is a form of inflammatory arthritis that primarily affect the spine, resulting in chronic low back pain. It’s also referred to as AS. It typically causes inflammation of the sacroiliac joint, situated between the base of your spine and the pelvis. It may also cause inflammation and pain in other joints, such as hips, shoulders, and small joints. Ankylosing spondylitis is often seen in younger age groups, with symptoms onset before the age of 45 years. If left untreated, this condition could lead to joint fusion and a significant decrease in mobility.
