Are there any medications given to treat blepharitis? More advanced cases of blepharitis may require use of topical antibiotic ointment applied at bedtime. In addition, a steroid eye drop may be recommended to treat redness and swelling of the eyelids. Your doctor might also prescribe an antibiotic medicine to be taken by mouth.
