Violent redness, itching and swelling persists and gets worse. Frequently, by touching and rubbing the irritated eye area may result in secondary infection. On occasion, patients may develop preceptive cellulitis as a result of hordeolum or stye. Secondary to blepharitis, which often requires an oral antibiotic. There are many types of blepharitis and therefore it is important to diagnose and treat accordingly.
