Blepharoplasty – Overview

Transcript

The eyes are often thought of as the windows to the soul. Excess drooping skin and fat around the eyes can make a person look more tired or older looking than they actually feel. Blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery usually involves removing excess skin or fat from the upper and lower eyelids to give a brighter, more youthful look to the face. It is sometimes known as an eyelid lift. Blepharoplasty is usually done for cosmetic reasons to hide the signs of aging that come when the skin begins to lose its elasticity, though it can be done for medical reasons, particularly if excess skin causes visual field deficits.
