As is typical with most cosmetic procedures, there are risks of infection, bleeding and scarring resulting from the procedure. Other possible complications, though rare, include difficulty closing the eyes or injuries to the globe or eye muscles. Also, while visible scarring is rare, as usually it is concealed in the eyelid folds, there is the risk of noticeable scarring after surgery.
