So one question I get from patients after the consult is, “Is my insurance company going to pay for all this reconstructive surgery that you’re planning?” And the answer to that is yes. There was a law passed by the federal government that the insurance companies are required to not only pay for the reconstructive procedure on the cancer side, but also a symmetry procedure on the other side, if you elect to only remove one breast during your surgery.
