Transcript

Depending on the severity of the spinal cord injury, patients can make a significant recovery. While typically the complete injuries where there’s no movement or sensation below the level don’t recover fully, even these patients, there have been rare instances where patients have made a very dramatic recovery and go on to walk, become functional. Milder injuries recover better, more severe injuries recover less well. But patients certainly can make a dramatic recovery and we should follow this very carefully before offering reconstructive procedures.
