Transcript

Capecitabine is a common oral drug we use in colorectal cancer as well as breast. And this basically is much like the symptoms of fluorouracil because it becomes that drug after you intake it by mouth. One very important thing to know is if you are on Coumadin for anticoagulation, you are at a very high risk of bleeding. It can cause diarrhea, and what’s called hand foot and mouth syndrome, where basically you get blistering and painful lesions on the palms, as well as the soles of your feet. It’s important to know your kidney function because if your kidney function reduces too far, you need a dose reduction on your Capecitabine when you’re taking it at home.
