So in most cases, when you’re seeing your medical oncologist, your tumor cancer has already been removed. At that time, we’ll look at your cancer stage as well as certain features or risk factors and we’ll determine your prognosis. Prognosis is very important. That’s the chances that your colon cancer could come back after you’ve had it treated. For certain patients who are high risk, or for sure stage three, there might be a role for chemotherapy after your surgery.
