As I mentioned before, the best way to avoid coronary artery disease is to do the preventative measures. Diet, exercise, modify stress, avoid bad habits, eat healthy, but if you need treatment, it’s important to get treatment of your risk factors. If you’re a smoker, quit smoking. If you’re diabetic, get the diabetes under control. If you have high cholesterol, lower the cholesterol, and if you have coronary disease, our cholesterol goals are much more stringent. We want that LDL, the bad cholesterol, to be 70 less.
