Emergency Room – COPD Antibiotics

March 14, 2021

Transcript

Some patients with COPD benefit from antibiotics, even if a pneumonia is not present. The most common antibiotic for this purpose is azithromycin. You may also have a pneumonia or another infection. In this case, the hospital doctors probably started you on an antibiotic with “sef” in its name as well as azithromycin or doxycycline. If you have a prescribed antibiotic, please take all the pills until they run out. This will help make sure you get over the illness completely and will reduce antibiotic resistance.
