December 26, 2021

Well, an epidural may not be an option to relieve pain during labor if any of the following apply: You use blood thinners, you have low platelet counts, you’re in shock or bleeding profusely, you have an infection of your back, or you have a blood infection. Also, if you are not at the least four centimeters dilated when in labor, or when the epidural space cannot be located by the physician. Again, if labor is moving too fast and there is not enough time to provide the epidural, then you have a labor without an epidural. Also, if the baby that compensates too fast, and there is no time to administer one.
