Epidural Anesthesia – Overview

One of the favorite topics for a lot of pregnant patients, and a lot of questions we get about this particular kind of anesthesia after big surgeries. So epidural anesthesia is a block, or renal anesthesia that blocks sensations around the spinal cord. We inject local anesthetics into what we call the epidural space. And that’s a space that is visual, that doesn’t exist, but that we create when we inject the local anesthetic, the novocaine, around that area.
