Gallbladder Removal – Follow-Up

After the surgery is done and we see our patients in let’s say the next week, or the week after surgery, we advise them to follow up in about a month’s time. And if they’re doing well, then they can come whenever they want. I always leave that door open. I always tell my patients when we part company that I’m always there for them, that they can call, they can email, they can make an appointment if there’s anything at all that they’re concerned about, if there’s any pain that they develop, if there’s anything that is different from what it was at the baseline, I’m always happy to see them. And it does happen once in a while, the patients will come back to us expressing some concern and we decide how to proceed based on what the actual complaint and the physical examination of the patient is going to be.
