Gallstones – Alternative Treatment

share

Transcript

One of the things that is commonly asked, “Is there any other therapy than surgery that can be done for gallbladder disease?” The real answer is no. There were many things that were tried, especially in 1980s, lithotripsy. You may be familiar with lithotripsy when it comes to kidney stones. And so they tried it in the 1980s without really much success. Also there is a medication called actigall that is sometimes asked about whether that can dilute the gallstones. It was used in the past with the lithotripsy. However, again, the results have not been sustainable, and the only therapy that is recommended for the gallbladder disease is gallbladder removal.
