So the signs and symptoms of a gout flare is when, what I described before as a gout attack or a flare, they are very painful. Even after the flare, sometimes patients will still have some discomfort into their joint, even when the initial swelling and redness has gone. With gout flares, you obviously can’t move that joint. Sometimes patients will have fevers. They might just not feel well. And certainly they are oftentimes incapacitated from just having a gout flare where their ankle is so swollen that they can’t even walk.
