Hashimoto’s Disease – Diagnosis

Anshul Gupta, MD Anshul Gupta, MD February 20, 2021

Hashimoto's is an autoimmune thyroid condition. By autoimmune thyroid condition, what I mean is that your body starts producing antibodies against your own thyroid gland and in the process of doing so, it starts destroying your own thyroid gland. Over the course of time, with the destruction of the thyroid gland, your body is not able to produce enough thyroid hormone. And it ultimately leads to hypothyroidism. And that's where most of the lab studies will able to diagnose the Hashimoto's disease.
