Hypertension – White Coat Hypertension

share

Transcript

White coat hypertension is elevated blood pressure in patients who have high blood pressure at the doctor’s office or in a clinical setting, while they have normal blood pressure at home or in a non clinical setting. Oftentimes your doctor will need to check 24 hour or continuous blood pressure monitoring outside the office to make sure that your blood pressure is actually normal outside the clinic. White coat hypertension can still sometimes be associated with complications. So please consult your doctor about whether or not your white coat hypertension should be treated.
