IBS – Follow-Up Tests

Transcript

After the initial exam, your doctor will use those answers to figure out the next steps. Blood tests can help you see if you have anemia, can look for inflammatory markers in blood, as well as to examine for things like Celiac disease and other digestive diseases. A stool test can check for blood in the stool as well as signs of infection or inflammation. Lastly, many times we will complete an endoscopy. This can help us diagnose or rule out Celiac disease and inflammatory disease or allergic disease, and make sure that we are looking clearly at IBS and not something else that’s just acting like it.
