The way that robotics works is it creates a template of the patient’s knee based on a 3D CT scan. Once that template is translated into the patient’s knee, the ability to produce an accurate assessment of the knee in terms of deformity, alignment and sizing is beautiful. And with that information, there is that ability to be able to do all the cuts that are necessary for a knee replacement with a robotic arm. The precision of those cuts is excellent. And if you look at the literature, it’s about three to five times more accurate and precise than manual instrumentation.
