So the surgery itself is anywhere from two to four hours, and patients will usually stay in the hospital for two to five days. The biggest risk of the procedures are infection, we’ll give you antibiotics to decrease that, bleeding and blood transfusion, a risk of a bile leak and the risk related to general anesthesia. The liver will usually regenerate itself within four to six weeks back to its original size.
