My name is Luke Cusimano. I’m a plastic surgeon here in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I specialize in breast reconstruction, specifically autologous reconstruction. I started my training at the University of Mississippi in Jackson, Mississippi, doing general surgery, completed that, and then did a three-year fellowship in plastic surgery at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Currently practicing in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at a private practice here in town.

What drew me to plastic surgery was the uniqueness of each operation. Every patient is different. Every patient’s anatomy is different and it allows critical thinking and creativity in each operation. Specifically with breast reconstruction, this is creating something from nothing which is really can be challenging and rewarding at times. In my spare time, I love spending time with my family. We do a lot of fishing and spending time on the boat. Currently chasing my two year old around and at the ball fields. Hope this information allows you to make an educated decision. Breast reconstruction and mastectomy can be a challenging thing for patients, but the fact of the matter and the truth is is that you should feel confident and comfortable in whatever clothing you decide to wear after your reconstruction.
