How can palliative care help? The palliative care team can offer management of shortness breath, chest pain, and blood in the sputum. Treatment with a blood thinner is beneficial unless there are serious contraindication such as active bleeding, or a high fall risk. Your care team will guide you when it’s the right time to stop the blood thinner.
