Menopause – Testing and Diagnosis

Diagnosis of menopause can be made by absence of menestration for a period of 12 months. Your doctor may also ask to look at your FSH, follicle stimulating hormone, and LH, luteinizing hormone levels. Those levels, which represent ovarian function, dramatically increase during menopause.
