For treatment, a dermatologist might prescribe at-home creams, or they may also perform an in-office procedure. The medications that are used are ones that purposely cause irritation in order to stimulate the immune system to fight off the infection. There are homeopathic treatments that some people use, but there is little evidence that those actually work. It is best to either leave the molluscum untreated or seek medical attention from a dermatologist or pediatric dermatologist.
