Nerve Blocks – Types

Transcript

The most common types of peripheral nerve blocks we use are single shot. That means a single injection. One time injection that’s gonna give you pain control between 6 to 18 hours after surgery. Sometimes we leave a little tiny catheter, a little straw in your skin that’s gonna give you pain control for the next two or three days. Your doctors will talk with you about choices on the day of surgery. What we consider a single shot or a continuous infusion, that little catheter in your skin.
