Peyronie’s Disease – Genetic Predisposition

One thing about Peyronie’s disease is about 2% of guys have a family history of it. As I mentioned, generally, guys of Northern European ancestry, specifically the Vikings or Viking ancestry, they do have some form of genetic predisposition to this. There are at increased risk of Peyronie’s or any type of collagen issue because of the fact that they have issues with collagen degradation and then myofibroblasts formation, and it could impact various parts of their body. One of which is their hand, as I mentioned earlier, Dupuytren’s contractures, as well as tympanosclerosis of their eardrum.
