Transcript

When performing the physical exam for Peyronie’s disease, there’s a couple of things I look for. Number one, I want to see if there’s a palpable plaque. By that, I mean is, I want to see if the palpable plaque corresponds to the area of curvature that the patient’s describing. Also, you want to help locate and you want to see where that plaque is. What part of the erectile body it’s on. Number two, I want to assess the elasticity of the penis, because what could happen is with Peyronie’s disease that I mentioned earlier, is the elasticity could be compromised. And what that leads to is penile shortening. And that’s something every guy is bothered by. So ultimately you want to assess elasticity, if there is a palpable plaque that you could identify that could help guide our treatment options.
