Psoriatic arthritis is a chronic inflammatory disease of a joint and its surrounding tissues. It is characterized by joint pain, swelling and morning stiffness. It usually affects joint and surrounding structures called enthesis, which is the site of attachment of a tendon to a ligament into the bone. It is associated with psoriasis, a condition that presents with red patches of skin coupled with white and flaky scales.
