Hi, I’m Dr. Ruchi Garg. And I specialize in gynecologic oncology. A gynecologic oncologist is a subspecialty trained medical practitioner who treats gynecologic cancers from the diagnosis to completion. I do ovarian cancer debulking surgeries, and staging surgeries, uterine cancer debulking and staging surgeries, cervical cancer radical hysterectomies, pelvic exonerations, robotic surgeries, vulvar and vaginal surgeries. I work at Cancer Treatment Centers of America or CTCA as their national program director. I did all my schooling in Miami. I did the six year honors program in medicine and did college in two years, then joined the medical school at University of Miami School of Medicine. We were called the baby doctors since I was only 18 or 19 when I started medical school. I did my gynecology and obstetrics residency at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions in Baltimore, Maryland. Then, went on to do another four years of gynecological oncology fellowship at University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. That was 14 years after high school. Then I practiced for 12 years in a community based private gyn oncology practice with an academic twist. And now recently I joined CTCA as their program director. I’ve written several book chapters. I’ve done several abstract presentations at conferences, both as poster and podium. And I have multiple peer reviewed journal publications.

In my spare time. I like to spend time with family and friends. I have a two year old son who is so much fun and a total joy in my life, but boy, is he a handful. I love traveling and experiencing things. Can’t wait to get out there again. My passion for health comes from kindness and desire to do something more meaningful in life. I live for purpose and I want to leave a mark in this world.
