Shingles – Medication

share

Transcript

The doctor will often prescribe antiviral medications to treat your shingles. Antiviral medication is best given as soon as symptoms begin, preferably within three days of symptoms starting. You can also buy over the counter pain medication, as well as calamine lotion to sooth the itching. The doctor may also prescribe stronger pain medication for more severe pain.
