If you are unable to tolerate chemotherapy, you can, in most circumstances, if you have an expression of PD-L1 that’s over 1% and especially if it’s over 50%, get immune therapy by itself. This doesn’t have the toxicities that we see classically with cytotoxic chemo. The nausea, and the fatigue, and the counts that fall really low. It does have its own cluster of side effects that involve your immune cells attacking your own body, but it’s generally much better tolerated than chemotherapy, especially when you’re using multiple agents.
