While there’s not much good about stroke, the one bright nugget in the whole story is that a stroke can be prevented. Keeping your risk factors well-controlled is the key to this. So in this case, if you have high blood pressure, make sure you take your medications and get monitored. If you have diabetes, get it under control. If you smoke or drink, quit and reduce to a reasonable amount. If you’re overweight, do your best to get it within a normal range. And at the very least ,add physical activity to your life. All of these steps can save your life even beyond a stroke.
