Hi, my name is Dr. Ulrick Vieux. I’m a child and adolescent psychiatrist, board certified in General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. I’m currently the chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at Garnet Health Medical Center in New York. And I’m also the founding Psychiatry Residency program director. My background is in psychiatry, but it’s also in family medicine. I did a family medicine residency prior to going into psychiatry. And the reason for that and why that experience was so valuable was I was really able to see the interplay between medicine and mental health issues. I was always really fascinated by how mental health issues can adversely impact my patient’s medical care and medical health. Hence I felt that it was very valuable for me to pursue a career in psychiatry after completing my family medicine residency. I’m hoping that my content can help really establish a holistic perspective and the interplay of medicine and psychiatry that can also help you in your journey to getting the best medical care that you can possibly get and truly being fully healthy and enjoying life. Because life is a gift.
