Transcript

Your doctor should ask for a urine sample, and the lab analysis will look for red blood cells, which might indicate a kidney stone, white blood cells that indicate infection, and bacteria. The number of your cells in the urine can help identify the presence of infection, and a urine culture is done to help determine the exact type of bacteria, which then can lead to appropriate antibiotic treatment.
