Vasectomy – Follow Up

After your vasectomy procedure, ongoing follow-up is required. Because vasectomy does not offer immediate sterilization, you need followup semen analysis three months after the procedure was performed. Your provider will encourage you to ejaculate at least 20 times to clear the vas tubes of any residual sperm and the final semen analysis must show no sperm before we’re able to declare that the vasectomy was a success and that safe, unprotected intercourse can occur without the risk of pregnancy.
