It’s very important to understand that vasectomy does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases. While it’s a very effective form of contraception, preventing subsequent pregnancy in all but the most rare cases, it does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases. Having intercourse after vasectomy without any other protective measures, such as a condom, is still considered unprotected intercourse.
