Diagnosis is usually straightforward, in that patients present to their healthcare provider with the complaint of having a wart and wanting it removed. Occasionally a biopsy is necessary to confirm the diagnosis by having the cells examined under a microscope. This is typically a safe and quick procedure and should not cause anxiety.
