Dr. Joanna Drowos currently serves as an Associate Professor of Family Medicine in the Department of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University. She also serves as the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs.

Dr. Drowos earned her DO and Master of Public Health Degrees at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed a Pediatrics tracked Internship at Palms West Hospital followed by a Preventive Medicine Residency with the Palm Beach County Health Department and a Family Practice Residency at Broward General Medical Center. She is board certified in Preventive Medicine, Family Medicine and Medical Quality. She earned her Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Administration from Florida Atlantic University in 2008. She previously served as the Center Medical Director of the Riviera Beach Health Center of the Palm Beach County Health Department. There she participated in the care of the county’s medically underserved suffering the effects of HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases, tuberculosis and global diseases. She was also the Director of Medical Education for the Palm Beach County Health Department’s Preventive Medicine Residency Program from 2009-2013. Her scholarly interests include clinical preventive medicine, communicable disease prevention and medical education.

She has been honored as the American Osteopathic Foundation’s Emerging Leader in 2011 and the Merck 2008 Outstanding Resident of the Year. She was recognized as the American Medical Association’s Outstanding Resident – Excellence in Medicine 2008 Award Recipient. Dr. Drowos serves on the state advisory board for the Anti-Defamation League and was honored as their Next Generation Award Recipient in 2010. She is a graduate of the American Osteopathic Association’s Health Policy Fellowship and the Training in Policy Studies courses.

Dr. Drowos serves on the Board of Trustees for the American College of Osteopathic Occupational and Preventive Medicine, and chaired the New Physicians and Residents Committee for the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians for 4 years. She also serves on the American Osteopathic Association’s Communications Bureau, and the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians Public Health and Wellness and Membership Committees. She is an active member of the Junior League of Boca Raton. She founded a Hadassah chapter for young professional women, and was honored as a Woman of Valor recipient. Her personal interests include travel, reading and spending time with her children Lila and Jackson and her husband Bryan.

For the last fifteen years her clinical practice continued to be nourished by her own evolution as a spiritual seeker, allowing for a better understanding of self and the human condition, particularly the nature of human suffering. Her insights have added purpose to her work and created opportunities for enduring contributions as part of a life-long mission of service.

Dr. Tarcatu is currently practicing as a Consultant to a home-based Hospice Oncology Specialty Program providing support services to people who have complex care needs at the end of life. She is a strategic advisor for several tech start-ups. She is an educator, mentor, and coach for clinicians training and working in the field of Palliative Care.

Her signature style is defined by a people-first approach and integrates didactic and experiential learning tools focused on compassionate presence, empathic listening, and co-design of relevant holistic solutions personalized for each individual and their families. Dr. Bennett was recruited in 2005 to the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center, ChristianaCare, Delaware, to help build the Cancer Program.  He is currently Director of the Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Multidisciplinary Clinic, Director of the Melanoma/Sarcoma Multidisciplinary Clinic, and Chief of Surgical Oncology.  Dr. Bennett also is part of the General Surgery Residency Teaching faculty, is adjunct faculty at the Wistar Research Institute in Philadelphia, director for biomedical engineering clinical immersion course with University of Delaware, and actively engaged in clinical research.  He has numerous publications in the field of surgical oncology and has presented at numerous national conferences.  Dr. Bennett has also been involved in medical device innovation and developed a novel, modular vessel sealer with his biomedical engineering colleagues.

Dr. Barry Shibuya graduated from the University of Hawaii, John A Burns School of Medicine in 1996, and completed his internship and internal medicine residency at the University of Hawaii Integrated Medical Residency Program in 1999.  He also served as Chief Medical Resident at Kuakini Medical Center in Honolulu, HI in 2000. Dr. Shibuya then completed his rheumatology fellowship at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California in 2002.

Dr. Shibuya was in private practice from 2002 till 2018, in Fremont, CA, before he moved back to Hawaii, and is now the director of rheumatology services for TeleMed2, an online multispecialty group. He also teaches at the John A Burns School of Medicine and volunteers with local non-profit organizations, like the Arthritis Foundation, National Kidney Foundation, The Alliance for Gout Awareness and was the 2019 recipient of the Northern California Lupus Foundation’s Purple Ribbon award for outstanding commitment to research and patient education.

Dr. Shibuya is the immediate past President of the Northern California Rheumatology Society (NCRS) from 2006, till 2018, and helped Dr. Kristine Uramoto form the Hawaii Rheumatology Society in 2019.  In his free time, Dr. Shibuya likes to spend time with family, listen to music, sing karaoke, travel, cook and speak to community groups on various integrated health related topics focusing on creating healthier lifestyle habits through his “S.E.N.S.E”-ible approach: Stress management, Exercise, Nutrition, Sleep and social Engagements.

Dr. Barry Shibuya graduated from the University of Hawaii, John A Burns School of Medicine in 1996, and completed his internship and internal medicine residency at the University of Hawaii Integrated Medical Residency Program in 1999.  He also served as Chief Medical Resident at Kuakini Medical Center in Honolulu, HI in 2000. Dr. Shibuya then completed his rheumatology fellowship at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California in 2002.

Dr. Shibuya was in private practice from 2002 till 2018, in Fremont, CA, before he moved back to Hawaii, and is now the director of rheumatology services for TeleMed2, an online multispecialty group. He also teaches at the John A Burns School of Medicine and volunteers with local non-profit organizations, like the Arthritis Foundation, National Kidney Foundation, The Alliance for Gout Awareness and was the 2019 recipient of the Northern California Lupus Foundation’s Purple Ribbon award for outstanding commitment to research and patient education.
