Dr. Tin completed his undergraduate studies at Stony Brook University. He later completed his medical education at the American University of Antigua College of Medicine as well as a Master’s in Healthcare Administration at Plymouth State University. He completed his internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at Maimonides Medical Center and completed a clinical transplant hepatology training at New York University Langone Medical Center. He was selected as Chief Fellow during his gastroenterology training and hold affiliations with Maimonides Medical Center and New York Presbyterian-Brooklyn Methodist. He is certified in performing advanced endoscopic procedures including endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).
He is an active member of various professional societies including American Medical Association, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American Gastroenterological Association and the American College of Gastroenterology. He had the honor of becoming a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He has been active in clinical research and has presented at multiple national conferences as well as publishing multiple articles in globally recognized journals. He is a consultant speaker for Gilead Sciences and AbbVie Inc. He has also been recognized in the New York City community for outstanding community service.

Dr. Bhumi Upadhyay was born in India but raised in the Orlando area. She was one of 30 students per year to be accepted into a 6 year combined Undergraduate/Medical Degree Program at University of Miami. She completed her pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. She moved to Michigan since her husband was doing an ER residency in Detroit.
Dr. Upadhyay moved back to Florida after residency and worked part-time for 5 years with 2 young children. In 2005, she opened her own solo practice in St. Petersburg, FL. While practicing, she was writing medical articles for a local magazine, Families On the Go. In addition, she would join the local hospital lactation support groups to offer guidance to new mothers. Over the last 16 years, her practice grew to be a 3 physician practice and well-known and well-respected in the community.
Dr. Upadhyay was nominated and offered a position on the Medical Staff Board of Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital as the Community Physician Representative. She also participated in the Johns Hopkins Residency Program as a site for primary care rotation. She recently was asked to be on the PET (Project Executive Team) Board for the creation of Johns Hopkins All Children’s Clinically Integrated Network (CIN).
Dr. Upadhyay is passionate about patient/parent education. She centers her practice around making sure patients and parents are well educated and fully aware of disease processes and plans.
In her free time, Dr. Upadhyay likes to travel specially to places with hiking trails. She enjoys a variety of workouts like CrossFit and Peloton. She is also a huge Tampa Bay Lightning fan. She was drawn into hockey because her husband played hockey!

Dr. Robinson received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina, his medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, and his MBA at the Haslem College of Business at the University of Tennessee. He completed his Emergency Medicine residency at Emory University where he also served as Chief Resident, and is a Fellow of both the American College of Emergency Physicians and the American College of Healthcare Executives.
His clinical career in Emergency Medicine started in Atlanta and quickly progressed into various levels of Emergency Department and hospital leadership. Over his career, he has managed a large division of a national healthcare staffing company, helped to purchase and turn around a failing hospital, and started companies in both the hospital-based and the post-acute care physician services spaces. He has led service lines in Emergency Medicine, Hospital Medicine, Palliative Care and Rehabilitation Medicine.
Dr Robinson is the Chief Executive Officer of Core Clinical Partners, leading teams of emergency physicians and hospitalists throughout the country. He is using his 20 years of industry experience to build a company that exceeds expectations for both hospital and physician partners. Through his experience as a clinical Emergency Physician, a site Medical Director, and various system, regional, and divisional roles, he has learned the business at all levels and is utilizing this experience to ensure that Core Clinical Partners is positioned for success.

Dr. Smita Patel is an Integrative Neurologist and sleep medicine physician, a physician leader and entrepreneur. She graduated from Midwestern University/Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2001. She went on to complete her neurological training at the Medical College of Wisconsin (2005) and sleep medicine training at the University of Chicago (2006). Additionally, she completed a two-year fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona, under Dr. Andrew Weil (2011). With over 19 years of experience working in hospitals and across the healthcare industry, Dr. Patel is also involved as Vice President of the Illinois State Neurological Society, a non-profit organization which aims to advocate on behalf of patients for access to neurological care and promoting continuing education of neurologists and the public of Illinois. She brings her expertise in neurology and sleep medicine along with a proficiency in complementary and integrative medicine to develop tailored health plans for her patients.
Dr. Patel has participated in clinical research studies in the area of sleep medicine and has written book chapters for several academic publications on neurological disorders. She has a strong interest in researching the cause and treatment of neurological diseases as well as supporting and participating in educational programs. Dr. Patel is the Director of Center for Brain Health at Northshore University Health System and is now Founder of iNeuro Institute. With iNeuro Institute, she wants to shift the current paradigm towards wellness, prevention, patient empowerment, and self- care and ultimately close the gap in healthcare disparities. Dr. Mallay is currently a practicing rheumatologist in Largo, Florida and she serves as the Director of MPP infusions. She graduated with a B.S. in Biology, minor Chemistry and Spanish at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2001 and then continued her medical education at Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) graduating in 2007. She then completed her residency and fellowship at Largo Medical Center, completing her studies in 2010. After graduation she has remained part of the clinical faculty at Largo medical center with multiple affiliations with other medical schools. Dr. Mallay believes that being a good doctor goes hand in hand with being a good educator, and continues to provide patients and medical residents with information that is in their best interest and champions the practice of preventive medicine. She has lectured on the topic of good health practices and autoimmune disease states at numerous meetings and co-authored multiple papers, including chapters on RA and Sjogren’s. Dr. Mallay has also received certification for the use of Ultrasound and Xrays for early diagnosis of arthritis and continues to use the ultrasound for guided joint injections and Carpal tunnel procedures. Dr. Mallay also has research experience, focusing on chronic inflammatory diseases, and novel treatment options.
Dr. Mallay is an active member of American College of Osteopathic Internal Medicine (ACOI) and Association of Women in Rheumatology (AWIR). She has lived and studied all over the world and is fluent in Bangla and Spanish.

Usman Zahir, MD
Orthopedic Spine Surgery
Dr. Usman Zahir is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in spinal surgery proudly serving the DC, Maryland, and Virginia region. As a leading endoscopic spine specialist, he is one of the few surgeons in the region performing the procedure. Dr. Zahir is trained on three separate spinal endoscopic platforms. As an instructor, he continues to teach and train other surgeons from around the country on endoscopic spine surgery. His practice is one of the few reference centers for endoscopic spine surgery in the United States.
Dr. Zahir’s interest in endoscopics began out of a desire to find less invasive ways of treating common spinal problems. Endoscopic spine surgery is the least invasive surgical treatment for spinal stenosis and disc herniations.
Dr. Zahir is the first surgeon in the DMV region to use the Joimax® iLESSYS®/iLESSYS® Delta Joimax endoscopic spine system for the treatment of lumbar stenosis.
Dr. Zahir was previously Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital (2012-2017) before joining HCA Virginia Physicians (2017-2019). In 2019, he entered into private practice. His current practice is dedicated to the advancement of endoscopic spine surgery in the Mid-Atlantic region.
