Vasectomy is one of the most commonly performed minor surgical procedures in the world. About 40 million men annually in the globe have a vasectomy performed, including about half a million men in the United States at the average age of 38. Compared to other forms of contraception, vasectomy ranks the most common form of contraception is condoms followed by oral contraceptive pills, tubal ligation, and then finally vasectomy.
