Transcript

Many patients with an acute labral tear, however, do not require surgical intervention at all, and may never require surgery on their hip. Instead, we treat these patients with physical therapy to help improve the muscles around the hip and decrease the joint pain that’s associated with their labral tear. Injections are also a very helpful addition to their treatment to decrease their pain in order to improve their ability to work with physical therapy and improve the muscle structure around the hip. Anti-inflammatory medicines are also important to decrease the inflammation and pain associated with their labral tear and get them back to an active lifestyle.
