Erectile Dysfunction – Testosterone

The association between low testosterone and erectile dysfunction is an interesting one. As much as erectile dysfunction is dependent on good blood flow, good nervous system and good venous outflow, the hormones definitely play a role in this as well. And by that, I mean testosterone. So if a patient comes in and he’s complaining of poor erections, he’s complaining about poor libido, poor muscle mass, an inability to strengthen up, or he has poor exercise tolerance. These are the types of things that you think of when you think of low testosterone. So by doing simple blood work, you’re able to see whether or not he has low testosterone. And if he does, addressing that low T, that low testosterone, could really help his erectile function and improve his erectile function that way.
