Transcript

When thinking about the tests for erectile dysfunction, it includes a few things. Number one, your vital signs, assess your blood pressure. Number two, blood tests. Blood tests, we really want to see what your glucose levels are, what your hormone levels are, see what your lipid status is, see if there’s any issues or any causes there that could be addressed. Next a urine test could be done as well. And sometimes a penile ultrasound will be used in order to assess the vascular supply to the penis and see whether or not there’s good arterial inflow and good penis backflow. The physical exam for erectile dysfunction is pretty simple, and it’s a genital exam where your physician will assess the penis and see if there’s any corporal fibrosis, assess the elasticity to the penis, and also look at the testicles and see if there’s any issues with the testicular health, whether it’s small size, poor consistency, or any other issues associated with it.
