There are four stages of cervical cancer. Stage one is confined to the cervix. Stage two cervical cancer has spread beyond the cervix, but has not yet spread to the pelvic wall. Stage three cervical cancer has spread to the lower third of the vagina and may have spread to the pelvic sidewall as well, or involves nearby lymph nodes. Stage four cervical cancer has spread to the bladder, the rectum or other parts of the body.
