Women and Heart Disease: The Real Story

October 12, 2020

Heart disease remains the number 1 killer of women in the United States. It kills more women than breast and lung cancer combined. Every 80 seconds a woman dies from cardiovascular disease. Few women are aware of these facts.

In my book, I talk about why the death rates for women with heart disease is so high, and also discuss ways in which you can decrease your risk for heart disease and potentially save your life and/or the lives of the women that are near and dear to your heart. The book is written in an easy to understand format, so a medical background is not required to understand it.

As a practicing cardiologist who has practiced for many years in different states, I have grown tired of seeing women with heart disease have more complications from this illness than their male counterparts. I am determined to educate women about this devastating, yet very preventable illness.
